Big Business: Is it the man, marketing, or product that allows them to thrive??

How does a small enterprise come to the forefront of the world to become a top contender, be a recognized brand, an apex in the social standings of the global market? I’m thinking of corporations, businesses that make hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars in revenues. Often I think of it as empire building because in essense they have enough capital to be a small country in itself. I often ponder how these enterprises come about. How do the people dream up these ideas and implement them to generate brands. How do they bring nothing to life.

Tracking bill.. Wheres george??

I recently found this one dollar bill that had the wheresgeorge markings. It's seems to me that they are using the dollar bill as a form of advertising. What i'm wondering is it a government agency or just a company looking for a way to market their product. I, as well as probably many others probably have thought of using money as a way of marketing their products. The only thing is that I thought it was illegal or a form of vandalism to graffiti currency. Hmm.. to me it doesn't seem like a govenment agency that is doing this research or did they get some special approval?

Catching the train only to fallie the laptop.

I was running to catch the train this morning when the bag opened up and out fell my laptop. The Swiss bag that was carrying my laptop has a major flaw. I think if there is any weight there is always a potential for the bag to open and empty its contents. Anyways my laptop didn't break although the plastic covering for the led screen came loose and I snapped it back. There are also numerous amounts of surface scars on the laptop covering. Below are the pictures of the bag and my laptop. Oh yeah and I missed the train.

Domino's Pizza Marketing Strategy?

I came upon this article on yahoo front page. The tag line was a loophole found by a customer gives away 11,000 pizzas. I go to the article and find that one owner of 14 stores had sold 600 pies. The free pizzas were due to a coupon code that wasn't supposed to be released. If domino's hadn't planned on giving away the free pizzas why create it in the first place? Did they purposely make a big deal out of it to get into the headlines? Free Publicity? Was this the real strategy in the marketing campaign? Read this article and tell me what you think.

It was pouring rain thunder and lightning

It was pouring rain "thunder and lightning". It rarely rains here in southen california, but today it was pouring. I was at a Starbucks in Irvine today and while working on a website; two people came in. One an elderly lady probably in here 60's the other was a very young woman around teens to early 20's. They came though the door in an aggrevated state. There was an accident. One younger lady claiming the older lady didn't have her lights on. The were arguing about who's fault it was and how the accident actually happened. One claiming to get witnesses that would favor their side.

Drip Drip Stains from Starbucks for a little caffene fix.

What is with these lids at Starbucks. *Premium* coffee in inferior cups. They charge a good deal more than any other coffee provider and yet they can't even shelve the dough to create lids that fit. I do a lot of my work at Starbucks because of the internet connection and they have locations everywhere. Everyday seems like i'm designing a new shirt with coffee stains. Why can't they correct this problem? I thought it was something temporary and only a certain small batch was broken and yet it's been a year and still no fix.
